Monday belongs to Bhagwan Shiv. Devotees offer water and milk at the Shivling, and many keep the Solah Somvar vrat, sixteen consecutive Mondays undertaken for a particular wish.
The Mondays of Shravan are held to be the most auspicious of the year for this worship.
